Savers Group of Companies began in 1983 as Jack’s Video World, a video rental and retail store founded by film enthusiast Jaime “Jack” Uy. The store’s success was driven by fulfilling the high demand for Betamax and VHS tapes.
In this venture, Jack Uy recognized the market for consumer electronics. The high demand for televisions and accessories prompted him to shift from video rentals to appliance retail. In 1986, the first Savers Mart opened.
After the Pinatubo eruption in 1991, Angeles City Cable Television was established. During the Asian Crisis, Savers Mall was built and inaugurated.
Today, the founders of Savers Group Holdings Inc. continue to fulfill their dreams as they persevere to make this family corporation into a globally competitive enterprise. Savers Group of Companies continues to deliver its commitments as it satisfies clients with its wide portfolio of products and services.
